Choosing a moving head wash is not only about brightness. For stage lighting rental companies, weight, movement speed, weather protection and application range all affect how easily a fixture can be used from one event to the next.

Stella Maris was developed with these practical needs in mind. This lightweight IP65 LED moving head wash combines 19 × 60W RGBL LEDs, individual pixel control, an RGB LED ring, a 3.7°–50.4° zoom and fast pan, tilt and lens movement. It can create narrow aerial beams, wide background washes and dynamic kaleidoscope effects for concerts, festivals and indoor or outdoor events.
At 19.95 kg, Stella Maris is approximately 10% lighter than the conventional fixtures used in our internal comparison. Its slim housing combines die-cast aluminum with nylon and glass-fiber materials to reduce overall weight while maintaining the strength required for professional use.
The design keeps the base stable while reducing weight in the head and arms. With less moving mass, the fixture can respond more quickly during pan and tilt movement. The compact body is also easier for lighting technicians to lift, transport and rig when equipment is moved between venues.
For rental companies, these differences matter throughout the working life of a fixture. Lower weight can make daily handling easier, reduce the load placed on trusses and help simplify transport for touring and temporary events.
Stella Maris also features an IP65-rated housing that protects the fixture against dust and water. UV-resistant exterior materials provide additional durability during outdoor exposure. This allows the same moving head wash to be used for indoor productions, outdoor stages and festival environments without limiting it to one type of project.
Stella Maris is powered by 19 × 60W RGBL LEDs. Each LED can be controlled individually, giving designers the freedom to build pixel patterns, chases and animated color effects across the face of the fixture. An additional ring of 80 RGB LEDs adds another layer of visual detail when the fixture is viewed directly.
The one-piece lens system supports even color mixing across the beam. Instead of simply adding another color option, the Lime channel helps fill part of the spectral gap left by conventional RGB mixing. This gives whites, pastels and transitional colors a fuller and more natural appearance, while saturated colors remain strong and clear.
With color temperature control from 2700K to 10500K, Stella Maris can move from warm atmospheric looks to cooler, cleaner washes. Designers can therefore use the fixture for both high-energy color effects and more subtle background lighting within the same show.
The rotating lens transforms the individual LED cells into fast bee-eye and kaleidoscope effects. Together with pixel control and the RGB LED ring, it gives Stella Maris a strong visual presence both in the air and when used as an eye-candy fixture on stage.

A wash light is often used to build atmosphere, fill the background with color and cover large scenic or performance areas. Stella Maris extends this basic role with a 3.7°–50.4° motorized zoom.
At 3.7°, the fixture produces narrow, defined aerial beams that add structure and depth above the stage. As the zoom opens, it gradually becomes a broad wash capable of covering performers, scenery and large background areas. The approximately 14× zoom range is more than twice the 6× range used as the benchmark in our comparison with conventional IP65 wash fixtures.
This optical range allows one fixture to perform several different jobs. A designer can begin with tight beams, open into a full-stage wash and then return to a focused effect without changing fixtures. For rental companies, this makes Stella Maris suitable for a wider range of project requirements.
Movement speed becomes especially important when lighting must follow fast music, sudden transitions or tightly programmed show cues. Stella Maris is designed to respond quickly across its main moving functions.
In internal benchmark testing, its pan and tilt movement is up to 35% faster than conventional moving wash fixtures in the same class. Its full-range zoom transition is up to 80% faster, while the rotating lens is up to 30% faster.

These improvements are not only about making the fixture move more often. Faster pan and tilt can shift the visual focus around the stage more quickly. Faster zoom allows an effect to change rapidly from a narrow beam to a wide field of color. Faster lens rotation creates more energetic kaleidoscope effects that can follow the rhythm of electronic music, dance performances and festival shows.
For lighting designers, this speed provides more freedom to shape the pace of a production. The fixture can support fast, high-impact moments while still serving as a wide and even wash when the visual story becomes quieter.
Stella Maris is designed for productions that need both wide color coverage and visible aerial effects. Its combination of IP65 protection, low weight, wide zoom and fast movement makes it suitable for:
- Touring concerts
- Electronic music festivals
- Outdoor stages
- Live events and productions
- Clubs and entertainment venues
- Temporary indoor and outdoor installations
For a rental company, using one fixture across more event types can be more practical than maintaining separate indoor, outdoor, beam and wash options for every application. Distributors can also offer customers a moving head wash that answers several common requirements in one compact design.
Stella Maris supports DMX512, RDM, Art-Net and sACN, making it compatible with both traditional DMX systems and modern network-based lighting control. Master-slave, automatic and sound-active modes are also available for simpler setups.
Seven DMX channel modes—from 28 to 106 channels—allow users to select the level of control required for each production. A lower-channel mode makes general operation more straightforward, while the extended modes provide access to individual pixels, the RGB LED ring and the complete effects system.
Five-pin XLR DMX input and output, Art-Net input and output, and locking power input and output connections help Stella Maris fit into professional touring and rental workflows.
Stella Maris brings together three qualities that are often considered separately: a lightweight IP65 housing, a flexible beam-to-wash optical system and the speed required for modern live productions.
For lighting designers, it provides more ways to move between saturated color, atmospheric wash, narrow beams and fast kaleidoscope effects. For stage lighting rental companies and distributors, it offers a compact outdoor moving head light that can serve concerts, festivals and a wide variety of indoor and outdoor events.
